I am a scholar-practitioner of theatre and performance studies. As a director I specialize in devised and ensemble-based productions.

I also teach courses in history, dramatic literature, acting, and arts management. 

I hold a PhD in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota and an MA in Theatre Studies from Florida State University

I have taught at the College of William and Mary and St. Olaf College.
